Ryu quickly caught the attention of the local entertainment managers and was selected as the feature artist at the Muttart Conservatory in February 2019 (before it closed for renovations) at the annual salute to Valentine’s Day. In May he performed at the U of A Botanic Garden for the Kodomo No Hi cultural celebration. He has been invited for a repeat performance on May 3 of 2020. He also appears regularly at the Q Cigar Lounge and L1 Lounge in West Edmonton Mall.

Before many more weeks had passed he was performing regularly at Café Blackbird, Rise and Root Café and attending local open stage events. He was a popular attraction at the many Farmer’s Markets throughout the summer. He became co-host with long-time friend and fellow musician Heather Andrews Miller of The Carrot Open Stage event, held every Saturday night while continuing to appear as many venues around town. Ryu enjoys playing for house concerts, private and corporate events, weddings, birthday parties, and community events. He loves to jam with other musicians and can often be found at an open mic event supplying exciting solos and playing crowd favourites from his vast repertoire. Please see the events tab on the menu for his full schedule.

Teaching is one of Ryu’s favourite occupations, and he has a limited number of students attending his lessons in his home studio. For more information contact hcmiller@shaw.ca or by calling 780-904-6575.
